SO Close...
Beautiful sunny day, perfect for a big rivalry game! SSU came out firing and offense really was clicking all during the first half, resulting in a 6-2 halftime lead. But, Cal Poly came out hard to start the third quarter and ran the score to 7-5 Noma at the end of the third. The back and forth in the fourth started to wear down the defense and suddenly it was 9-9, then with less than a minute to go in the game - boom, Poly scores for 10-9 lead. Sadly, the game ended with an open net goal for final of 11-9. We had it, and that is a moral victory but it would have been so much nicer to close this one out. Up next is Dominican on Tuesday and the team pretty much needs to run the table going into the playoffs - GO NOMA!!!!
